3. How we use it

  • To take, process, fulfil and deliver your order, and to send order confirmations, shipping notifications and tracking
  • To manage returns, refunds, warranty claims and any subscription you enrol in, including sending trial and renewal reminders
  • To provide customer service and to keep a record of what we agreed with you

  • To send marketing by email or text where you have given the consent the law requires, and to measure how our advertising performs
  • To improve the website, our products and our service, including through analytics
  • To comply with our legal obligations, including tax and accounting, and to enforce our terms

4. Lawful bases, where they apply to you

Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on the following:

  • Performance of a contract, to take and fulfil your order and to provide support
  • Legitimate interests, to secure the website, prevent fraud, understand how the website is used, and improve our products, balanced against your rights
  • Consent, for marketing text messages, for non-essential cookies and for any other processing where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time
  • Legal obligation, to keep records the law requires us to keep

5. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website and the checkout to work, and others that help us measure performance and advertising. Our current providers include Microsoft Clarity for session analytics, Google Analytics for traffic measurement, Meta for advertising measurement, and CheckoutChamp for the checkout and order processing.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop the checkout from working.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising and analytics technologies may be treated as a "sale" or as "sharing" for targeted advertising under certain state laws. Where that is the case we provide the opt-out those laws require. To opt out of that use, email support@tryamatro.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". We also honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal where our systems receive it.

6. Who we share it with

  • Payment processors and gateways, to authorise and settle your payment and to screen for fraud
  • Ecommerce and order platform, CheckoutChamp, which hosts the checkout and stores order records
  • Fulfilment centres and shipping carriers, to pick, pack, ship and track your parcel
  • Email and SMS providers, to send transactional and, where you have consented, marketing messages
  • Analytics and advertising providers, as described above
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, under duties of confidentiality
  • Authorities, where we are required by law, by court order, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims or to protect someone safety
  • A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply

We require our service providers to process personal information only on our instructions and to protect it.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States. Some of our service providers and fulfilment partners operate in other countries, including China, from where some orders are shipped. Where we transfer personal information out of a country whose law restricts transfers, we use an approved transfer mechanism such as standard contractual clauses, or another lawful basis, and we require appropriate safeguards by contract.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we reasonably need it. In practice:

Order and transaction recordsKept for the period required by tax and accounting law, generally 7 years from the order
Support correspondenceKept for up to 3 years after the last contact
Marketing preferences and opt-out recordsKept for as long as needed to honour your choice
Analytics and device dataKept for up to 2 years, or the retention period set by the provider, whichever is shorter

The exact period depends on the type of information, why we hold it, whether a legal obligation or a live dispute requires us to keep it, and our operational needs. When we no longer need it we delete it, de-identify it, anonymise it or securely dispose of it.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of the website in transit, access controls, and processing card details through a PCI DSS compliant payment provider so that we never hold full card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information and the law requires notification, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the time the law requires.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • Correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete your personal information
  • Receive your information in a portable format
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including profiling for targeted advertising
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights
  • Appeal a decision if we refuse a request

To make a request, email support@tryamatro.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will verify your identity, usually by asking you to confirm details of an order, and we respond within the time the law requires. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written proof of authority. There is no fee, unless a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive, in which case we will tell you before proceeding.

To stop marketing at any time, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply STOP to any marketing text, or email us. We will still send you messages about an order you have placed.
